สยามสมาคมฯ จัดรายการท่องเที่ยวเชิงวิชาการที่น่าสนใจอย่างสม่ำเสมอ โดยมีการท่องเที่ยวทั้งในประเทศและต่างประเทศ ทั้งแบบไปเช้าเย็นกลับ ค้างคืนวันหยุดสุดสัปดาห์ และเดินทางหลายวันในต่างประเทศ เป็นการท่องเที่ยวทางธรรมชาติ ประวัติศาสตร์ และ ศิลปวัฒนธรรม โดยปรกติสมาคมจะเชิญวิทยากรผู้มีความรู้ในสาขาต่างๆ หรือคุ้นเคยกับสถานที่ท่องเที่ยวนั้นๆ เป็นวิทยากร สมาชิกหรือผู้ร่วมเดินทางจะได้รับความสะดวกสบาย ทั้งด้านอาหาร และที่พัก โดยทั้งนี้ขึ้นอยู่กับความพร้อมของสถานที่เหล่านั้นด้วย นอกจากนี้สยามสมาคมฯ ได้รับความร่วมมือจากสถาบัน องค์กรต่างๆ ทั้งในประเทศและต่างประเทศ ซึ่งยินดีให้การช่วยเหลือในการเข้าเยี่ยมชมสถานที่ต่างๆ ได้โดยสะดวก
Background
The Siam Society has an on-going programme of Study Trips. These trips range from one day local excursions, to trips to other countries in the region lasting several days. Wherever the trip is heading, the emphasis will be on nature, history, culture and religion. Where possible good facilities are used but this isn't always possible, for example when staying at a forestry station. Study Trips are often lead by scholars with an in-depth knowledge of the place being visited. The Siam Society has many contacts and sometimes this allows members to visit places not open to the general public.

17 – 19 February 2012 A visit to museums, historical sites and temples in Udon Thani, Khon Kaen and Nong Khai Provinces Leader: Khun Somlak Charoenpot, Member of the Siam Society and Advisor of Kamthieng House Museum Ban Chiang was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1992 and stands as one of the World’s earliest bronze producers. 31 March - 7 April 2012 Trekking in Bhutan Leader: Mr. Peter Laverick, Council Member After two day's acclimatisation around Paro we will be trekking for four days, followed by one day sightseeing in Thimpu and Paro, where we will be just in time to see the end of the Paro Tsechu Festival. For three nights during the trek we will be staying at camp sites eating basic local food prepared by our guides. The trek is a moderate high altitude trek but not strenous. More>>> |
