Saturday, 23 June 2018
Leader: Dr. Weerachai Nanakorn, 1st Vice President and Leader of the Natural History Section and Khun Somlak Charoenpot, Honorary Secretary

When mentioning Pattaya, the first thought that comes to most members must be nightlife, seafood, a lively and dazzling city which has become the major tourist hub for both local and foreign tourist. However, only a few tourists and members know that there are must–see places in the area around Pattaya.

Under the leadership of Dr.Weerachai Nanakorn, the 1st Vice President and leader of the Natural History Section and Khun Somlak Charoenpot, Honorary Secretary of the Siam Society, the Siam Society will visit:

- One of the biggest private collections of Buddhist Art in Thailand in Nong Prue district. Owned and operated by The Foundation for the promotion and preservation of Thai Art.

- Khao Chee Chan (Buddha Mountain). A large picture of the Buddha’s image of subduing mara, which is about 70 meters wide, was crafted on the cliff of Khao Chee Chan.

- Nong Nooch Garden (with special permit). We will visit some of the rare species from within and outside of Thailand, such as Ferns, Orchids, Bromelaind, and small dwarf flowering bushes.

Members will depart from the Siam Society by bus on Saturday, 23 June at 8.30 a.m. and we expect to return to the Society on the same day at 6.00 p.m.
